Panel Discussion on Women and Peace Process in Marib

The gender unit of the National Organization of Yemeni Reporters hosted a panel discussion on the role of women in peace process. The Panel was organized by UN Women with the participation of 12 activists from Marib Governorate.

During the working session held in the organization hall in Marib, the participants discussed many issues related to the role of women in the peace process and the importance of their participation in the political, humanitarian, developmental action in order to achieve sustainable peace, security and stability.

The participants touched on the role of ancient and modern Maribean women in the advancement of societies, the positive and negative effects of war on the work of women and their participation in all fields and also the mechanisms for pushing women to the forefront of the scene in preparation for their participation in the peace process.

This qualitative activity comes as the first of its kind held by UN Women in Marib Governorate.

The session pointed to the precautionary measures against Corona epidemic including providing masks and sterilization tools, and avoiding the use of stationery, banners and paper handling
