SADA Organization condemns the assault on Yemen Today TV correspondent Alaa Al-Sallal and calls on the authorities in Aden to identify the perpetrators
The National Organization of Yemeni Journalists “SADA” strongly condemns the assault on Alaa Al-Sallal, correspondent of Yemen Today TV, and the confiscation of his personal camera while he was performing his journalistic duty in the *Crater district* of the temporary capital, Aden.
This attack constitutes a violation of press and media freedom and represents a serious threat to the safety of journalists, especially in an already hostile media environment marked by repeated violations and risks.
The organization calls on the relevant authorities in Aden to launch an urgent and transparent investigation into the incident, prosecute and hold those responsible accountable, and take clear measures to protect journalists and enable them to carry out their work freely and safely. The silence of responsible parties in the face of such violations only encourages further impunity and undermines the climate of media freedom in Yemen.
We also call on all local and international human rights and press organizations to stand in solidarity with our colleague Alaa Al-Sallal, and to exert pressure to identify and hold accountable those involved in this crime.
