SADA condemns kidnapping journalist Al-Samadi by Houthis in Sana'a

The National Organization of Yemeni Reporters (Sada) received a communique that Houthi group kidnapped journalist Abdul Hafez Al-Samadi from his house in Sana'a and took him to an unknown place

Sada condemns in the strongest terms the abduction of Al-Samadi and demands the Houthi group to release him immediately and unconditionally, and holds the Houthi group full responsibility for his life and safety as well as the rest of the journalists abducted in its prisons in Sana'a.

The organization calls on the Houthi group to stop its abuses and violations against the press and journalists, and stop restricting media freedoms

Sada also calls on the international community and the UN special envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, to pressure the Houthi group to release the journalist Al- Samadi and the rest of kidnapped journalists in Houthi prisons for four years, and to stop abuses and violations against the press and journalists.

The organization calls on the media, international organizations and journalists to stand in solidarity with Yemeni journalists and exercise more pressure on the Houthi group to stop abuses against kidnapped journalists in Sana'a.
